Summary of the New Vision of partnership: KORFBALL International Visegrad Fund project

The second edition of the International Visegrad Fund V4 korfball coaching course has been held at Gárdony-Agárd between 2022.08.15.-08.18.. This year was much easier because of the better pandemic situation, fortunatelly there wasn’t any positive Covid or any other illnes case.

This year the participants has arrived from Poland (Rzeszów, Toruń, Warsawa), from Slovakia (Prievidza, Nitra, Nesvady, Senec, Bojnice), and from Hungary (Miskolc, Nyíregyháza, Szeged, Dunaújváros, Szombathely, Tatabánya, Szigetszentmiklós, Budapest).

The event started on Sunday, 14th August, when the organizing committee has arrived to the place. This year was special, the International Korfball Federation has approved three people as the instructors of the program, Kamil Musialinski from the Polish Korfball Federation, Tomas Sonnenschein from the Slovakian Korfball Federation and Tamás Csonka from the Hungarian Korfball Federation.

The participants arrived at Monday, 15th August to Gárdony, where day started with a lunch and a theoretical presentation in connection with the next four days. We are proud, that representant of the International Visegrad Fund, Katerína Sramkova has participated at the first program of the event.

In the afternoon the participants had a practical session at Csuka Csarnok (Gárdony-Agárd), where they have learnt about the basics of korfball.

On the second day there was two practical lesson, totally six hours long. The participants has continued to learn about the basic skill development (shooting, passing) for the 8-12 years old age group. The afternoon session was about the positioning in attack and defense, they have experienced both situations that helped them to understand the dynamism of the game.

The structure of the third day was different, during the two practical session, the participants has acted like real coaches. They were divided into groups, each group has the task, the skill, that they needed to solve, to create and teach the exercise that can help the actual motoric skill and ability. Each of them was designed for the age group between 10-14 years old.

The last day was sad for the participants, there were only one practical lesson, but they had a korfball cup with mixed teams from the three nation. It was very though for them, but in the end every team was satisfied, because they have learnt that this sport has a lot of fun, even if its intensive.

After the cup, there was a theoretical exam, the next was the closing ceremony, where everybody has recieved his certificate as an achievement of the IKF level 1 course.

The Hungarian Korfball Association would like to specially thanks the course and the work for Tomas Sonnenchein (SVK), Martin Sonoga (SVK), Kamil Musialinski (POL) that he have lead the course, and for Zoltán Bóné (HUN), Kristína Szabóova (SVK) and Tamás Csonka (HUN) for organizing the event.

Summary of the Sport FUNdamentals for all children International Visegrad Fund project

After delaying the project from the original date in May because of the pandemic situation around Europe the V4 korfball federations (Czech, Slovakian, Polish, Hungarian) has agreed to make the V4 Korfball Coaching Course happen between August 19-22. 2021. Despite of the situation the presidents has agreed, that they can manage the event in a Covid proof way, every participant and organizer has had negative PCR tests or have been vaccinated at least two times.

The event has started at Wednesday, 18th August, when one of the organizer/participant Kristína Szabóová (SVK) and the head instrutor Ivo Kracik (CZE, appointed by the International Korfball Federation, Head of the Education and Developement Committee in the Czech Korfball Association) has arrived to the place (Viking Hotel ***, Gárdony-Agárd) and prepared it for the welcome of the other participants.

The participants arrived at Thursday, 19th August to Gárdony, where day started with a theoretical presentation in connection with the next four days.

After that the group has had a practical session at Csuka Csarnok (Gárdony-Agárd), where they have learnt about the basics of korfball, just as a review because most of the participants didn’t used ball since the start of the pandemia.

On the second day there was two practical lesson, each of them was three hours long. On the first, the participants has learnt about the attacking and defending systems, on the second Ivo has showned to them how can they adapt the korfball in a school lesson in the way of fun and development in motoric, cognitive and emotinal skills.

On the third day (2021.08.21. Saturday) there was also two practical session. On the morning program there was a special guest also from the Hungarian Television M1, who was interested in the V4 korfball cooperation in connection with the International Visegrad Fund. The second practical lesson on Saturday was special, the course have visited the summer camp of the Hungarian Korfball Association held at Dinnyés, Hungary. The participants have seen a special training and korfball match held by Ivo for the U16 Hungarian team. During the match, the participants of the course have acted like real coaches and referees, helped for the kids and tried to correct the mistakes in real time. After that all the participants had chance to play together with the children in mixed teams.

The last day was sad for the participants, there were only one practical lesson, but they had a korfball cup with mixed teams from the four nation. It was very though for them, but in the end every team was satisfied, because they have learnt that this sport has a lot of fun, even if its intensive.

For the V4 countries it was a very special course because of the pandemic situation, not all the countries have send the same number of the participants. There was two federational presidents in the participants, Martin Sonoga (SVK), as president of the Slovakian Korfball Associacion, and Zoltán Bóné (HUN), as president of the Hungarian Korfball Association. Also two board members have participated from the Slovakian Korfball Associaton, Éva Bušikova (SVK) and Tomas Sonnenschein (SVK).
